We started hiking at Timberline, in the clouds and in the wind, with temperatures in the low 50's. This trail has magnificent views, and we were even able to see the top of Mount Hood for a few minutes! Billie Goodwin was our leader, and was able to inform us about the geological significance of the White River Canyon. One can see why the river has done so much damage to the highway down below, with water and boulders. Hopefully the new construction down there may help in the future. As we went on, we got into the beautiful forest. (And my camera quit working!) Thank you, Billie, for a fine outing!
