Barlow Road

From the Pioneer Woman's grave to Barlow Crossing Campground
August 3, 2006

We continued our walk on the historic Barlow Road in reverse direction today because it would involved less elevation gain. Starting at the Pioneer Woman's Grave near highway #35 we followed the route with its wagonwheel ruts up to Barlow Pass, then down to Devil's Half Acre and on to Barlow Crossing and road #43. It was a 9.46 mile route according to my GPS device.
This historic route had special significance to those whose families had relatives who came west on the Barlow Road. Thanks, Anne Wilson, for leading today.
