Arch Cape to Short Sands

A few intrepid
hikers would not stay home because of a weather forecast calling for high
winds and pouring rain. We found the high winds caused quite a display
in the forest and produced a few logs to climb over or around. The rains
held off, fortunately, until mid-afternoon, and even then it didn't rain
significantly until we were heading from Short Sands beach to the parking
lot. In the pictures below you'll see us sitting on the dry ground at lunch
time.
The first part
of the Arch Cape trail was not maintained, and was marked "closed", but
it was actually no harder to walk than the sections on the west side of
the highway.
