(Starting at N45.7106° and W121.3604°)
Ray Hayden led a small group of hikers
today. Those who didn't go really missed something--a gorgeous day full
of wildflowers and vistas. Ray knew every flower personally, and identified
them all for us. I wish I had taken notes!
We followed the poison-oak trail up
the east side of Catherine Creek to a high point on Tracy Hill and ate
lunch with a grand view of the Columbia Gorge. Coming down, then, on the
east side of Tracy Hill near Major Creek to the highway, after which we
visited the waterfalls.
